Art that opens conversation...

WISHING WELL

Wishing Well returns to three-dimensional form the investigation that began with the Perpetual Care project, continuing the exploration of  images - verbal and visual - for the unspoken conversations that hover beneath the spoken ones, as a person encounters the uncertainties of illness and maneuvers through systems of care.

Oversized medication organizers, icons of Western medicine’s prescribed daily practice toward wellness –– both leash and lifeline –– interact with more visceral impulses toward healing and hopefulness. Four installation pieces of Wishing Well launch at the Salon of the Arts, 2009: Cairns group exhibition, at the Brandeis University Women’s Studies Research Center Gallery, April 23 - September 25, 2009.
